Solar or Battery Installation

The installation is the most important part of the process. If it isn't done right, then your system won't function as it should. Our installations are carried out by in house installers because we are an Electrical Contracting Company that does not sub contract out our work. This way we can guarantee that our systems that we sell and install, will be installed to the highest standard, ensuring they will perform in line with manufacturers warranties. 

Depending on the size of your home and equipment used, a system will take approximately one day to install. The installation team lead by a CEC accredited Electrician, will wake you up at 7am, so make sure that the kettle is on! They will invite you to join the morning safety meeting and complete all necessary paperwork so that you have an understanding of the project timeline. This will involve;
  • Safe access
  • Work areas
  • Exclusion zones - you don't want to accidentally walk near where they are working
  • Length of time that they will have the power turned off for, so if you are going to be at home make sure that your phone is charged!

The only thing that you will need to do throughout the day is offer a cup of tea or coffee. Maybe a couple of biscuits. 



Designing for a residential property sometimes isn't that straightforward. There are many factors that we take in to consideration when looking at a system for your home like;
  • Occupants in your home
  • How you use your power 
    • daytime/ nighttime
  • Appliances in your home
    • A/C, Pool, Spa, Pumps, Hot Water
  • The cost of your bills
  • Roof type/ size/ age and access
  • The power that runs in to your house
  • Your switchboard
  • Shading 
    • Tree's/ neighbouring structures

We then work out the overall suitability of battery storage at your home, providing you with an energy analysis, estimated yields and financial returns for your system. Remember that solar is the only thing that you can install on your house that will actually make you money. If done correctly.

 If a battery is not suitable for your home, then we will suggest other ways to improve your system, like increasing your solar system size.  

After all, we would not sell or install something that we wouldn't install on our own place. 

*An A grade Electrician will be present for the initial consultation to make sure that everything is assessed correctly. Given that you are purchasing a high cost electricity generation unit, you should be making sure that you are dealing with an Electrical Contractor.

Handover


When the noise has stopped, it means that we're done. You will be asked to download the latest apps in for monitoring your system and the Electrician will provide you with your login details. They will guide you through over the next 30 minutes to 1 hour of the ins and outs of your system;


  • What everything is and does
  • Shut down and start up procedure
  • How to reconfigure your Wifi connection
  • How to understand your monitoring
  • How to utilise your monitoring to save on power.



Remember, just because you have solar and battery, doesn't mean that you can leave the lights and heating on all night. The idea is to learn how to use your solar or battery to help save money and the environment. The best way to save money is to use the power that you generate so, timers for day use of washing, drying, pools, A/C's


The monitoring platforms for solar and battery have come a long way allowing either realtime energy usage all from your mobile device or computer. They allow you to see how much you are producing, what you are using and how much you are exporting. This allows you to see when you should turn on high use items so that they are being powered by solar.
